Many educational articles about Reiki have appeared in medical journals in the past year, which has meant that attention from the medical community has increased and several research projects have been initiated [Chu 2004, Potter 2003, Miles 2003, Fleming 2003, Yapp 2002, Nield-Anderson 2000, Rivera 1999, Whitsitt 1998, Bullock 1997, Van Sell 1996, Kovalik 1995, Tattam 1994].

Recent studies of Reiki focus specifically on Reiki research [Baldwin 2010, Vander Vaart 2009, Lee 2008, Vitale 2007]. During 2010, the scientific articles were evaluated by a team of researchers from the Center for Reiki research, with a high quality of research design and use of well-established performance parameters.
